Selection Criteria

A project is included when it:

  1. Has a licence file. OSI-approved licences are shown as declared SPDX identifiers. Custom, multiple, source-available or undetected licences are marked needs review – read the upstream terms before use; inclusion does not mean the project is freely reusable.
  2. Is maintained or widely used. Activity is recorded weekly in the freshness report; archived projects stay listed and are flagged rather than silently removed.
  3. Is self-hostable or usable as a library without a mandatory vendor account.
  4. Fits a category of the AI agent / LLM stack.

What is what on this site:

  • Catalog data (catalog/projects.yaml): curated descriptions, categories, deployment, hardware, declared licence – edited by humans via pull request.
  • Collected evidence (catalog/evidence/): facts from the GitHub API with source URL and retrieval time.
  • Editorial ("Highlight" columns, recipes choice): opinion, labelled as such.
  • Upstream claims: anything in a project's own README; not verified here.
  • Test results: only recipes marked tested, with environment and date.

Stars and popularity are not used as a proxy for quality or security.
